Let’s explore life science together—no travel required!
Activity: Life Safari Go on a short walk outside, look out a window, or explore your backyard or neighborhood.
Together, look for living things, such as:
Plants
Insects
Birds
Pets
People
Talk about what you see:
What does it look like?
What do you think it needs to live?
Where do you think it lives?
You can draw what you find, talk about it, or just observe together. There’s no right or wrong—just curiosity.
🌿 Why This Matters:
Observation is one of the most important science skills. When families explore together, children learn that science is part of everyday life.
Activities like Life Safari help children see that science isn’t just in books or labs—it’s happening all around them, every single day. When kids slow down to observe plants, animals, and people, they’re building the same skills real scientists use: curiosity, questioning, and noticing the world closely.
If your child loved this activity, check out We Are Scientists 📘🧪Just like today’s exploration, the book is filled with life science activities that invite children to observe, wonder, and discover—right at home, with the people who matter most.

Because science doesn’t start with answers…It starts with looking, wondering, and saying, “What do you notice?” 🌿
