Can You Find Your Heartbeat?
This week, your Tiny Scientist is becoming a Heartbeat Detectiveājust like Nurse Janelle!
Your heart works all day and all night, pumping blood throughout your body. Even when you're resting or sleeping, your heart never takes a break.
ā¤ļø Family Activity
Have everyone in your family:
š Place two fingers on their wrist or neck.
ā¤ļø See if they can find their heartbeat.
Now compare!
Can everyone feel it?
Move Your Body!
Now...
š Run in place for 30 seconds.
Jump.
Dance.
Skip.
Feel your heartbeat again.
Did it change?
Why do you think it beats faster after you move?
Tiny Learning Moment
Your heart is a muscle!
When you exercise, your muscles need more oxygen, so your heart pumps faster to deliver blood throughout your body.
Even tiny babies have hearts working hard every single day!
