Hi, I'm Dr. Alexis—and this is my STEM story!
Hi Tiny Scientists! My name is Dr. Alexis, and I'm a veterinarian. That means I help take care of animals when they're sick, hurt, or need checkups to stay healthy.
When I was younger, I always loved animals. I was amazed by how smart they are, and I knew I wanted to spend my life helping them. That love for animals inspired me to become a veterinarian.
One of my favorite parts of my job is helping animals feel better. Whether I'm examining a playful puppy, caring for a curious kitten, or treating a larger animal, every day brings a new adventure. It's a wonderful feeling to watch an animal heal and return home happy and healthy.
Did you know that helping animals also helps people? Healthy pets and healthy animals help keep families and communities healthy too. Science helps me understand how animals' bodies work so I can give them the best care possible.
