Hello Tiny Scientists!
Today we’re exploring something AMAZING about your body — how your spine helps you move, bend, and stay strong!

Think about this…
How do you stand up tall? How do you twist, jump, or touch your toes?
That’s all thanks to a very important part of your body called your spine!
Your spine is a stack of small bones that runs down your back. It helps you move, balance, and even protect your nerves, which send messages from your brain to the rest of your body.
Pretty cool, right?!
Doctors like Dr. LaTanya Bowman, a Chiropractic Physician, help keep people’s spines healthy so their bodies can move and feel their best.
That means she’s kind of like a Body Movement Expert!
🔎 Today’s Discovery Activity: Move Like a Scientist!
Try this:
Stand up and try these movements:
Touch your toes
Reach up high like you’re grabbing the sky
Twist side to side
Now ask yourself:
👉 What part of my body is helping me move?
(Hint: It’s your spine working with your muscles!)
Bonus Challenge: Sit down and slouch… now sit up nice and tall.
Ask:
👉 Which position feels better? Why?
🧠 Why does this happen?
Your spine is made up of small bones called vertebrae that stack on top of each other.
These bones:
Help you bend and move Keep your body upright
Protect your spinal cord (a super important message system!)
When your spine is lined up and moving well, your whole body can work better.
🎯 Tiny Sparks Question:
What is your favorite way to move your body?
Is it:
Running? Dancing? Jumping? Stretching?
Your spine helps you do ALL of that!
💡 Fun Fact: Your spine has 33 small bones stacked together — like a flexible tower that helps you move!
✨ Big Idea: Your body is designed to move—and your spine is a big part of making that happen.
