🌟 Family Sparks Friday: Engineering Everywhere!

This week at Tiny Sparks Lab, we’re exploring engineering and technology—because building, designing, and problem-solving are all around us!

🛠️ Family Sparks Friday Activity: Digital Engineer at Work

Today’s activity invites your Tiny Scientist to explore how engineers use technology to create, test, and improve ideas—just like real software engineers!

Try this together:

  • Look around your home for digital tools (tablet, phone, laptop, TV, smart devices)

  • Talk about how engineers might have helped design or build them

  • Use the coloring page to imagine your Tiny Scientist as a digital engineer, creating something new

Conversation Starters for Families:

  • 💡 “What do you think engineers do with computers?”

  • 🔧 “What could you build or improve with technology?”

  • 🧠 “What happens if something doesn’t work the first time?”

Children learn that engineering isn’t about getting it right the first time—it’s about trying, testing, and thinking creatively.

Why This Matters: Engineering builds confidence, persistence, and problem-solving skills. When children see themselves designing and creating with technology, they begin to imagine themselves as future engineers.

🖤 Big futures start with Tiny Sparks.
